The Washington Blade Reports that Mayor Adrian Fenty has no plans to release the 'Spagnoletti Memo'. The secret memo, created under the tenure of Mayor Anthony Williams by previous District Attorney Robert Spagnoletti, discusses whether or not the District of Columbia should recognize same-sex marriages and unions from other states.According to the Blade "Acting D.C. Attorney General Peter Nickles told the Blade that he has advised Fenty not to release the memo."
Fenty was an early supporter of marriage equality during his mayoral campaign, but has disappointed many by not honoring his campaign pledge to immediately release the Spagnoletti Memo.
